Why I built MergeImg

A few years ago I was working on a freelance project and needed to quickly combine a handful of PNG screenshots into a single image for a client report. Every tool I tried either wanted me to create an account, had a file size limit that kicked in right when I needed it, or was so buried in ads I could barely find the upload button.

So I spent a weekend building a cleaner version for myself. It ran in the browser, processed everything locally, and had no nonsense. Colleagues started asking for the link, so I put it online properly — and MergeImg has been growing ever since.

Every tool on this site is something I built because I needed it myself. That means I actually test them, fix broken edge cases, and add formats when users ask. If something is not working right, the contact page goes directly to me — not a support ticket queue.

How MergeImg Works — and Why It’s Different

Everything Runs in Your Browser

Your files never leave your device. The merging happens using JavaScript directly on your machine — no upload to any server, no storage, no risk. I built it this way because I would not trust a random site with client files, and I would not ask you to either.

Multiple Formats, One Tool

JPG, PNG, WebP, PDF — most tools handle one format well and everything else poorly. MergeImg was built to handle mixed inputs cleanly. Drag in whatever you have, choose your output format, and get one file back.

No Accounts, No Limits

There is no free tier with a 5-file limit that forces you to upgrade. I run this site with ad revenue and keep all tools completely free. No registration wall, no watermarks on your output.

Tools Available on MergeImg

  • Image Merger — JPG, PNG, PDF
  • JPEG to WebP Converter
  • WebP to JPEG Converter
  • Photo Signature Resize
  • Rotate Image Online
  • Crop Round Image
  • Compress BMP

New tools are added based on what users ask for. If there is something useful missing, the contact page is always open.

Editorial Standards

Every tool description and guide on this site is written or personally reviewed by me before publishing. I do not publish content I have not tested myself. If a tool produces incorrect output in an edge case, I fix it — not hide it.

If you find an error or a tool behaves unexpectedly, please use the contact page to let me know. I read every message.
